Ah, Beer Lao. Laotian stern faces and all too often bland grub make me nostalgic of Thailand, but Beer Lao is hands down a better beer than Leo, Chang, or even my beloved Singha. It’s good in both it’s regular lager and its strong dark ale, fantastic as the one for the road or after food. It’s so good that they sell it in pharmacies. Yes – over the counter. Leally.
